On the eve of this New Year, consider whether you will find your balance of Heart, Mind, Body and Spirit in 2010.

So intertwined are these four categories of self, that the commitment we make to nurturing one area will likely benefit the others as well.  It’s no secret that the way we feel can impact our immune systems, for example.  Our bodies literally respond to our everyday thoughts, feelings and actions.  So by taking care of our physical selves, we will also benefit our emotional selves.

Three years ago as I was shaping the KooDooZ model, I consulted with educators, spiritual practitioners, physical trainers, family therapists and other parents to help simplify and identify how youth could best find their life balance by combining passion and purpose.

We wanted to use a single key word to trigger a provoking thought:

Through personal practice and commitment, each of us has the power to make contributions which improve our communities, our planet and our personal selves.
